2010 Nationally Televised Massachusetts Gubernatorial Debate
Watch Green-Rainbow Party candidate for governor, Dr. Jill Stein, join her 3 opponents in the Boston Media Consortium's first major debate. The media consortium, made up of The Boston Globe, WCVB-TV, WHDH-TV, WGBH-TV, NECN, and WBUR, has re-invited Dr. Stein after a lot of citizen outrage when they tried to exclude her because she had not raised $100,000, even though their criteria had given her until October 1st to do so.
The debate will be aired from 7 to 8pm -- nationally on CNN as well as locally on WGBH, The Boston Channel, WHDH/7, NECN, other local TV and radio stations, and online.
Have some friends over for a potluck or some popcorn, and see why Jill Stein's participation in these debates is vital if we want ordinary people represented in the democratic process. The consortium's financial criteria are a viciously anti-democratic statement, going far beyond the high hurdles set by the election laws of the Commonwealth of 10,000 certified signatures to get on the ballot.
In addition to watching the debates, please sign this petition to demand that all ballot-qualified candidates be included in all debates, and go to JillStein.org to track the fundraising thermometer and to DONATE to Jill's campaign. The Friday deadline for qualifying contributions is fast-approaching, and if they can reach the $125,000 threshold, we can have a fully-funded campaign for justice, sanity, and sustainability in the governor's race. This is the only real way to ensure that Stein's voice, and the voices of We, The People, are included in these debates that are critical to our future.
