FBI Targeting

We condemn the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s unregulated and covert targeting of elected officials in “sting” operations that attempt to ensnare FBI-selected targets by creating alleged crimes that would not have occurred without FBI promotion. This practice is a prescription for the abuse of police powers and is too dangerous to tolerate in a free democratic society. We call for the Department of Justice to investigate FBI targeting of Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner and for the current charges against Councilor Turner to be dropped.
